I know how powerless that feels. I know sleepless nights and dreadful days, I know moments when you meet God and pray for the life of your child, your loved ones, your own. I know, I lived through them.
I know how lonely it feels to come where you don't understand the language spoken and I know financial challenges and how small and inadequate they make you feel.
Imagine warning sirens ripping through the air, jolting you from the chair to grab your four year old and run to the shelter across the front yard hiding tears and praying it doesn't hit your child on the way.
Imagine hearing the very same sirens few years later when you come to the land of the free, the deeply known sound throws you in the car, gets you to the school to get your child out - explaining with unarticulated sounds, arms and legs to the principal that there are bombings in our nerves we still react to and we are taking our and friend's child home... to later learn those were weather test sirens.
Imagine being unable to understand and be understood for not speaking the same language yet through tears vowing to one day speak it fluently since your child needs your help to do the same.
Imagine losing your home, your car, your livelihood for joblessness hit both you and your spouse at the same time and once again you pick-up the pieces and start from the beginning without even counting how many times you did it already in your life. I know pain, I know challenges, I know some very low points that I wish no one has to go through.
And yet, I also know that there are solutions, outcomes and moments that are way better, more joyful, happier and more fulfilling that you could ever imagine or ask for. I call them Outcomes from Above.
One of the major ones was to leave the ceased city during the war, another one to resettle a half world away from home and all you knew, and manny, many before and after that.
What were some of your outcomes from Above?
